An example of success: Chris Gardner

Gardner was born in 1954 in Wisconsin. His family was not exactly an example: his father had been separated from his mother before he was born, and stepfather starred in scenes of violence against his mother, he and his brothers. In his youth, he wanted to be a doctor and came to work as a research assistant at the University of Carolina.

Over time, he realized he could never study medicine and was working as a salesman of medical equipment. With a young son, sought a new job to increase income and, yes, he met a stockbroker dressed and leaving a red Ferrari, as in the movie. Excited about the profession, enrolled in the trainee program, saw the woman leave him, lost his house and went to live in shelters for the homeless. Hired, he began a journey that would end in his own brokerage firm, Gardner Rich, in Chicago. In time, he has carved his own Ferrari red, bought the basketball star Michael Jordan.

A single parent who had no money to rent a house, becoming evicted several times, living in hostels for the homeless, and having slept up in public toilet with your child. Chris Gardner was dropped by his wife, who could not stand so much debt. One day, with only $ 21.35 in his pocket, a portable scanner for bones to sell, and overall misery he saw a man park his Ferrari, and asked himself: What does? And how do? The man replied that he was a broker at the stock exchange.

The almost beggar who bought the Ferrari of Michael Jordan, set up his own company, and in 20 years has transformed $ 21 and 35 cents on a fortune worth around $ 600 million.
